Sony ups Norman Tajudin to vp

He'll oversee SPHE's global emerging markets portfolio

As it steps up its focus on emerging global markets, Sony has promoted Norman Tajudin to vp international at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Tajudin, who has been vp business development and strategic planning for the home entertainment division, now will oversee SPHE's global emerging markets portfolio, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America. He also will oversee the division's multistudio distribution partnerships and strategic initiatives in international territories and report to T. Paul Miller, senior vp international.

"Given the astounding growth in our emerging markets, it has become an area of increased focus for SPHE," Miller said. "With strong strategic business expertise and proven track record within Sony Pictures, Norm will be instrumental in our efforts to extend our leadership position in the emerging markets."

Tajudin's promotion comes on the heels of another international promotion that focuses on emerging markets. Michele Garra this month was appointed to the new position of senior vp Asia Pacific. She oversees the business in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India and Korea, which encompasses a wide variety of platforms, including film and TV production and distribution, worldwide channel investments and distribution of filmed entertainment in 67 countries.
